The position of Manager, Legislative Services creates an extraordinary career opportunity for an experienced local government manager. The City is looking for a manager seasoned in providing comprehensive services that are essential to the proper functioning of City Council and its Standing Committees. The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure compliance with the relevant statutory requirements of the Local Government Act and the Community Charter as well as procedural bylaws and other rules and conventions governing the Council process.
A Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma (in Public Administration) is required. Five years in a similar senior decision-making capacity and a thorough knowledge of parliamentary procedure as well as the Local Government Act and the Community Charter are essential. The City needs a Manager, Legislative Services who can demonstrate an ability to effectively evaluate the current situation in the department and recommend innovative and better ways to deliver services.
