The Water Utility’s Watershed Planning Division is seeking a highly skilled Business Strategist to work as a key member within the Stormwater Management team and Business Strategy Team. The strategist will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team that will work collaboratively across many Divisions and Business Units. An exciting opportunity exists to be part of a team that is exploring a variable rate structure for the Water Utility in order to best allocate and recover costs across various customer segments within the stormwater management line of service. As a Business Strategist you will bring knowledge and your experience in a number of disciplines to support the investigation and potential development of a stormwater variable rate structure for The City’s Water Utility Stormwater Line of Service. Primary duties include:Qualifications
- A degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Management, Economic, Engineering Environment, Science or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of related experience is required.
Previous utility experience including financial and cost/benefit analysis, sustainable financial delivery and/or cost recovery models and project management is required. Experience that includes strategic planning, citizen or stakeholder engagement, water and / or stormwater management, environmental planning and management, risk assessment, managing contracts and consultants will be considered an asset. Demonstrated abilities or skills including strong written and verbal communication, personal initiative, ability to create and maintain strong positive and trusting relationships, strong strategic and analytical thinking, ability to work collaboratively and work well as a team, exhibit influential leadership, have political and business acumen, understand customer focused approaches, will be considered success attributes.
