Cleans and disinfects sinks, countertops, toilets, urinals, mirrors, walls, showers, water fountains, and all touch spots.
Cleans and polishes metalwork, such as fixtures, fittings, and elevators.
Sweeps, dry mops, and wet mops floors.
Operates floor scrubber, buffing, and burnishing equipment to clean floors.
Dusts furniture and shelves.
Cleans entrance doors, windows, and glass.
Empties garbage, recycling, and composting receptacles.
Wipes down lockers, daily.
Receives and responds to calls throughout the day to clean up spills.
Reports damages or vandalism to supervisor as required.
Orders supplies and restocks shelves.
Assists full time Lead Hand in the stripping and waxing of floors, annually.
Rental Set Ups and Take Downs
Mops floors (dry and wet) prior to rental set up.
Wipes down tables.
Arranges tables and chairs as requested.
Takes down tables and chairs and returns items to storage.
Picks up litter and debris.
Empties exterior garbage receptacles.
Sets out recycling and garbage at curb on appropriate day.
Removes graffiti as required.
Removes snow from entrances and fire exits within 3 feet.
Updates outdoor signage as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Must have some secondary school education.
Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in a related field.
Must be willing to work various shifts to accommodate work schedules or special projects.
Must have knowledge of proper floor care and cleaning techniques, as per industry standards including but not limited to the safe and proper use of custodial equipment such as floor-scrubbers, sweepers, burnishers, floor buffers, and steam cleaners for walls and tiles and related procedures.
Must have knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) for the safe use and clean-up of hazardous materials.
Must have well developed customer service skills.
Depending on assignment, may be required to hold a valid MTO class “G” driver’s license in good standing.
