Reporting to council through the mayor you will lead a staff of 100 through a team of six department heads. The CAO oversees a total proposed 2018 budget of $14 million.
The successful candidate for the position will be a mature, proven people manager capable of, inspiring and developing existing and future, motivated, high performing staff at all levels. Strong leadership and customer satisfaction skills. The next CAO will lead by example, be a motivator, able to achieve high levels of service delivery excellence throughout the organization. The position requires someone with financial expertise, discipline to balance fiscal restraint with efficiency and effectiveness of organization.
This position requires a post-secondary degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, political science, economics, finance, or a related field; five (5) years of administrative experience in a municipality as a CAO/City Manager, deputy CAO/City Manager, or in a related senior administrative capacity involving planning, management, and implementation.
