City of Melfort

Melfort is a small city that is a city on the move, with all of the amenities of a larger city.  We take pride in the friendliness of our citizens and in the safe environment of our community.  Melfort is located in an area that contains some of the richest farmland in Saskatchewan and as such, Melfort is a major service center for the entire Northeast.

The City has superb facilities for our citizens and visitors.  The Northern Lights Palace, 1,800-seat arena and swimming pool complex, is a first rate facility rivalled by few others.  Melfort is home to a host of other facilities that cater to a variety of interests … among them are the CJVR Performing Arts Theatre, the Sherven-Smith Art Gallery and Swartout Hall, which doubles as a gymnasium capable of accommodating indoor soccer.

Famous for its volunteerism, Melfort previously hosted of the Saskatchewan Summer Games, the Royal Bank Cup and the Saskatchewan Winter Games.  Our city provides a quality of life that is second to none.  We have quality health care facilities, a quality education system and a growing community.

The Mayor and City Council who are dedicated to continually moving the City of Melfort forward wish you a hearty “Welcome to our community"!
